On Christmas Eve, with a mutual feeling of satisfaction after all the Christmas morning prep work is done, two lovers gently embrace for a tender moment of romantic dancing cheek to cheek by the glowing lights of the Christmas tree, while the lulling sounds of the crackling fire pop from the fireplace, and the intoxicating aroma of her alluring perfume fills the space around them both.
On a late fall November night of 2019, the starry-eyed singer-songwriter Lee Langdon wrote “What’s a Christmas Eve Without My Baby?” on his family’s living room piano, reminiscing about past late-night romantic Christmas Eves spent with his beautiful wife in that very room.
Reminiscent of energizing crooner Big Band swinging Christmas songs of the mid-twentieth century, “What’s a Christmas Eve Without My Baby?” will lure your heart and soul nonstop into the Christmas season, carrying you all the way through Christmas Day.
lyrics
Where is all the mistletoe
I wanna kiss your lips like crazy
What’s a Christmas Eve without my baby
You are lookin’ fine tonight
Stoke the fire and hold me tight
Nothin’ better than a Christmas Eve with you
Room filled with your sweet perfume
All alone in the living room
Take my hand and dance me
By the light of the Christmas tree
Oh, you and me
Oh
I’m in a jolly mood tonight
Hop in my sleigh we’ll take a flight
I feel like staying up all night with you
We’ll fly high up to the moon
And all the way we’ll sing this tune
Cause what’s a Christmas Eve without my baby
Let the world disappear
Come with me, let’s leave the atmosphere
Take my hand and dance me
By the light of the Christmas tree
Oh, you and me
Oh, on Christmas Eve
Oh
***Instrumental***
Let’s sit and watch the fire glow
Underneath some mistletoe
Bing is singing “Let It Snow”, so let it snow
Kiss me baby one more time
And hang your stocking close to mine
Cause what’s a Christmas Eve without my baby
What’s a Christmas Eve without my baby
What’s a Christmas Eve without my baby
